Dual enrollment through Reynolds Community College allows high school students to take college-level courses and earn both high school and college credits simultaneously. It provides an opportunity to experience college academics early and better prepare students for their journey beyond high school.

We’re committed to providing our students with high-quality vocational education pathways that align with the needs of local industries and employers. We use aptitude and career assessments (YouScience) to guide students to various career choices based on their interests and skills. Our goal is to provide students exposure to full-time employment opportunities through work-based learning, internships, apprenticeships, and industry-recognized certifications upon graduation.

Rise Academy honors classes are advanced courses designed for students who demonstrate strong academic ability and a higher level of commitment to learning. These classes often feature more rigorous coursework, deeper discussions, and increased expectations compared to standard classes, helping students prepare for college or competitive programs.

Our advisor offers individualized assistance with post-high school planning, including SAT registration and help with the FAFSA. Students also have the opportunity to attend college trips throughout the school year.

School Profile
Over a four year period, we offer all courses necessary for students to complete a Standard or Advanced Studies high school diploma in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our student to teacher ratio this year is 10:1. We provide an individualized and holistic education, creating a safe and engaging learning environment for our students. Rise Academy has been fully accredited through the Virginia Association of Independent Schools since 2020.
Currently, we have graduated 106 students, many of whom have continued on to postsecondary education. Rise graduates have been accepted to and attended Norfolk State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Mary Baldwin College, J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Fortis College, Butler University, Richard Bland College, John Tyler Community College, Longwood University, Chowan University, Old Dominion University, University of Mary Washington, Radford University, and James Madison University, Christopher Newport University, Hollins University, and Virginia Union University.
