From the Head of School: Spring Reflection

Lately, I’ve been coming back to Galatians 6:9: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

The end of the school year is, in many ways, a harvest season. We see the results of the investment—academic, emotional, and spiritual—that has been poured into our students all year long.

And what a harvest it is.

We see it in the confidence of our seniors as they step into what’s next. We see it in the laughter during Field Day, in the pride at the sports banquet, and in the quiet moments of reflection during chapel. We see it in the way our students show up for one another. This harvest doesn’t happen by accident. It takes the work of the community, faculty, staff, families, and supporters like you who continue to show up, give, and believe in what’s possible for our students.

As Head of School, this season also means being pulled in a lot of directions at once. One moment I’m celebrating with seniors as they make big decisions about their future, and the next I’m working through details for events, sitting with families, or planning ahead for what’s next. It’s full and, at times, overwhelming, but it’s also deeply meaningful because every piece of it is connected to the same purpose.

And in the middle of all of that, I find myself especially grateful for moments like our East End Block Party. There’s something powerful about stepping back and simply celebrating together as a community. It’s an event that serves as a reminder of the joy that exists when people come together around something they believe in. It reflects the heart of who we are and the relationships that make this place what it is.

So as we move through these final weeks of celebration, I’m holding both the joy of the moment and the gratitude for the journey it took to get here. Thank you for being part of it with us.

The end of the school year is, in many ways, a harvest season. We see the results of the investment—academic, emotional, and spiritual—that has been poured into our students all year long.
